Boat & Auto Transport FAQs

How much does boat transport cost?
It depends on length, beam, weight, distance and whether the load needs oversize permits. A twenty foot runabout going three hundred miles and a forty foot sportboat crossing the country are not the same job. Send the two ends of the trip and we will price the actual lane rather than guess.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to three weeks is comfortable. Spring and early summer fill fastest at the Lake, and snowbird runs south book heavily from October through December.
Is my boat insured in transit?
Yes. We carry active cargo and liability coverage as a licensed motor carrier. You can verify USDOT 2817526 and MC-939339 yourself on the FMCSA site before you book anything.
Can you haul oversize or wide load boats?
Yes. Anything over standard width needs state permits and sometimes a routing survey, which we arrange as part of the job. Pontoons and tritoons are the usual wide load and we run them regularly.
Can you pick up from a dealer, marina or auction?
Yes, and it is common. Send the business name and contact and we coordinate the release directly so you do not have to stand in the middle.
Do you prepare the boat, or do I?
You handle personal items, loose electronics and canvas. We handle the strapping, blocking and securing. We will send a short prep list once the lane is confirmed.
